Hola again! Please read ahead for the blog posts covering Monday and Tuesday of our trip! Note: We had been having pretty much the whole week off school.
Monday
On Monday, we packed up (we will do a lot of overnighters/two night stays this week to get home quicker to see more) and headed to Roma. Although, we did go around town for a bit, and visited Tambo Teddies, a place that Tambo is known for. It had lots of very cute (albeit expensive) teddies, and although we weren't able to get any, they do have an online store 😆 After that however, we drove to Roma, and again, it was uneventful, and once we arrived in Roma, we relaxed! It was extremely cold (colder than ever before I think) so we basically stayed in the tent as much as possible as it was much warmer in there (but still cold). And that was Monday!
Tuesday
On Tuesday, it was 1 degree. So very very cold! We nearly froze that morning, especially as we went to the Roma Saleyards for 8.30AM! The Saleyards is where people buy and sell cattle, and it was quite loud with the poor cows mooing, but not as loud as I expected. We had a guide, and he was very informative, however over the noise it was quite hard to hear at first. Later on, we were able to hear a bit better, and then we just watched the sorting out of the cows as they were sold. It was really interesting, and I would suggest you-tubing it so that you can get a good guide as it is really hard to explain. 🤣 There was also a small room with some more information about the Saleyards, so we stayed in there for a while (because it was warm!) before heading to Macca's to finalise our plans for the following days. After Macca's we headed to a very old Anglican church that has many beautiful stained-glass windows, however because it was made of stone, it was also VERY VERY COLD! There was a pipe organ there however, and even though I wasn't able to play it (sadly) it was cool seeing one in person after reading about it a lot in books. After that (we wanted to see Roma haha and we only had one day to do it...) we went to the Big Rig, which is a place where people drilled for water, and stumbled upon gas and oil. Or should I say... we all went into the information centre, and then me and Christopher came back for our Cert 3 lessons, and Mum and Dad went to the Big Rig. After our lessons was finished, and we ran a couple errands, we headed back to camp so that we could begin packing up for the next day, when we were heading to-... You will just have to find out I guess!
