Hello! This blog post will cover Friday and Saturday of Week 9.
Friday
On Friday (today) we had the day off school as we are pretty much finished. We went to the Powerhouse Museum this morning, which was interesting, however more focused towards machinery lovers as the main component was the machinery of the Longreach Powerhouse. There was some heritage components however, like a model schoolroom, old cottage and old typewriters. Again, there was an old piano, however it was even more out of tune than the last one at the Stockmens Hall of Fame! (I didn't know that was possible, but it was! 🤯) It was really interesting however getting a better grasp of what life was like for people living in the early 1900s and what their work environment was like. The Powerhouse was apparently very loud while it was still in operation, however the school was opposite the powerhouse, meaning they were hearing that loud noise all throughout the day. According to some signs that they had at the Museum, some people were so accustomed to the noise that they woke up when there was silence instead of them waking up to noise. Anyways, after the Powerhouse Museum, we headed into town where Mum and Dad got themselves a cowboy/cowgirl hat each from the Station Store that me and Mum went to on Wednesday. Then we headed to the local diner for the chips that we really enjoyed on Wednesday (a fresh batch of course). We ended up getting our whole lunch there, with the others getting GF sandwiches, while I got some chicken nuggets. It was a very nice lunch, and after running some other errands, we headed back to the campsite to begin packing up in order to go to Tambo tomorrow. We also visited Joshua, Trish and Bradley to say goodbye, even though we would be seeing them in a week WHEN WE COME BACK HOME! (Not that we are excited to come back home or anything... 🙄😂) Then we came back home to finish packing up and I am currently writing these blog posts to try and catch up. And then tonight we will hopefully relax for a bit, and then go to sleep!
