10-11th June (Week 8-9) - Longreach

 Hola! This blog post will cover Saturday and Sunday in Week 8-9 of our time in Longreach!! 

Saturday

So on Saturday... um... what did we do Saturday 🤔 Ah yes, so we went to Ilfracombe. Ilfracombe is a one hotel/pub town that is about 20 minutes out of Longreach. We walked around the Machinery and Heritage Museum, which was mainly outside. All over the paths there were hundreds of little bugs (we still don't know what type). I tried squashing one... but it wouldn't squash!! We didn't really stop in one place haha because otherwise we would have had bugs crawling all over us. Photos are included. After walking around the museum, we headed to the one hotel in the town and we had burgers for lunch (steak for Mum and Dad, barramundi for me and Christopher). They were quite nice, and afterwards we drove out to see the Twelve Mile Dam, which ended up only being about a couple metres long as a result of age. 😂 We stayed there for a bit, headed back into Ilfracombe for a last look around, before heading back home. We watched the second Inspector Gadget movie (I told you we liked it) and then we went to sleep!

Sunday

On Sunday, we went to Longreach Baptist, which is the church where Joshua and Trish are working at. Well... the temporary location since their actual church is being renovated by MMM. It was really good, and there was the band from ANEW since the ANEW camp had just happened over that weekend, so that was pretty cool. After the service, we got to see two six-day old goats that a lady had to bring to church as the mother wouldn't take care of them. Not something that you get to see in the city that's for sure. They were pretty cute though... 

After church, we got lunch, and then the four of us headed to the Qantas Museum, where we walked around till closing time. The Museum was really cool and we got to walk around a couple of really old planes, and then there was a lot of information and videos about the founding of Qantas. Fun fact, Qantas stands for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services. (Note: that was all from memory except for whether or not it was Aerial or Airplane etc.) After that, we headed back home, and had a relaxing evening. I honestly can't remember if we watched a movie or not 🤣 And then, (suprise suprise) we went to bed!
