Week 1 Day 4,5,6,7- Moore Park/Bundaberg

Hi again! This is Tahllia, with another (possibly long) update, this one of our Tuesday-Friday of last week. I am afraid that I am working a few days behind, as I am catching up slowly. I got quite behind while I was sick. 😊 Hopefully I will be able to catch up at some point but am breaking it up so that you aren’t reading pages and pages of information at a time.

Tuesday

Today we decided to have a home day, so after doing school we relaxed around the campsite. Later on in the afternoon we went on a walk down a pathway that was parallel to the beach, and then came back on the beach.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, as it turned out, I (Tahllia) came down with what we think was Gastro, however we are not entirely sure. The symptoms were decidedly uncomfortable; thus I took most of the morning off school. Even so, I was able to finish most of my days work in an hour at lunch, so that was a plus. 😊 We ended up cancelling our lunch and dinner plans for that afternoon, booking our Thursday and Friday completing, just hoping that I would be better by then…

Thursday

Enter Thursday. While still not feeling great (I did receive some prayer from a friend and then began feeling better pretty much straight afterwards #coolGodstory), after doing school in the morning, we all (Mum, Dad, Christopher and I) went and met some school friends for lunch. We went for a walk around a free zoo and then down a boardwalk that went down to the Burnett River. The view was rather nice, however didn’t quite compare to the beach. Later that afternoon, after doing some shopping, we went to the Mullers for dinner. We had (drumroll please!), smoked beef rib-eye, smoked pumpkin, and roasted white sweet potato (which we didn’t really know was a thing), capsicum, onion, and some veges, paired with an amazing plum sauce that was Mr. Mullers “secret recipe.” Secret or not, I want that recipe to make at home… After that, and we were all feeling really full, we had a gluten free macadamia torte, which had crackers and macadamias as the base, and whipped cream, and crumbled Cadbury flake on top. While I wasn’t able to quite finish it, everyone else polished theirs off. Sadly (skip a couple days quickly) melted ice leaked into the container holding the rest of my torte, so I wasn’t able to have very much of it. But anyways! We were able to see Bundy again, who by the way is sooo cute and such a bundle of joy. And then we were home by about 8.30pm, and basically straight to showers and bed as we were all very tired.

Friday

On Friday, thankfully I was feeling much better, and after completing school in the morning, we were able to meet up with the Carnell’s for lunch at a local sports club. After mediocre nachos (that was supposed to be a small, but it was a large serving. The others got a normal sized… none of them finished it 😊) After that we went back to the Carnell’s unit, and got blessed with a wonderful view, and amazing company. Afterwards, we went to the Macadamia farm, where they farm Macadamias and have a tourist centre where you can buy macadamia related food and buy small trinkets that are from the locals.

They also had a café, that by the time we arrived it was beginning to close, but I was able to have a little cup (I was still sooo full) of Mango and Macadamia sorbet that was AH-MAZING!! After we headed back to the campsite, bypassing the Cha Cha Chocolate factory, which holds a very large variety of (overpriced) chocolate and lollies. I was able to get a small bag of musk flavoured rock candy, which I really enjoyed, and was obviously really good, because the rest of the family kept asking me for more! Once back at the campsite, we basically just began packing up, and then watched Bluey that night. That is something that I forgot to say. Some of the nights, me and Christopher binge-watch Bluey. Every time my Dad hears the intro, he goes “Not Bluey AGAIN!” Even so, he even admits that it's not too bad.
